The idea for The Fitnessa Bag came to me while walking into the gym for leg day in January 2025.

I remember heading into the weight room juggling my water bottle, phone, and booty bands, thinking to myself, “This is annoying.” 

As I walked toward the treadmill to start my warm-up, I kept trying to brace my bottle under my arm while putting in my headphones and getting my music going. In that moment, I thought:

There has to be a better way..

Some sort of bag would be nice…

As I dialed into my workout, the idea started evolving.

I certainly didn't want to lug my duffel around, and don't want to feel obnoxious or draw attention walking through the gym. I thought to myself that something compact, cute, and designed keeping in mind the reality of how women actually move through their workouts. An intentional, functional, and purposeful design that will not only compliment my fitness routine, but other women's fitness routines as well.

A bag that wouldn’t just carry my fitness essentials, but would complement my routine.

The idea continued to progress as I traveled from machine to machine...

I wanted a bag that could securely hold either my handled water bottle or my shaker cup, depending on what I brought that day. I wanted enough room for my workout accessories, phone, sweater, card holder, and even a mid-workout snack. I imagined compartments for everything: a sleeve for a book or tablet if I wanted to walk on the treadmill after training, a secure clip for my keys if I was heading straight into a class or session without using a locker, and quick-access spots for chapstick, sanitizer, hair clips, and all the little essentials I always seem to carry.

I also wanted it to feel personal.. something I could style with charms and clips and actually feel excited to bring with me every day.

This was all very exciting to think of, but the biggest thing I noticed that day was something so simple:

At every machine and station, I kept placing my phone, water bottle, and accessories directly on the gym floor. I had been doing this for years without even thinking about it, but suddenly it hit me that my phone always felt dirty after workouts, and I was constantly putting my expensive bottles and personal items on the ground.

That was it for me. 

My fitness routine was ready for an upgrade, and I figured if I felt this way, other fitness lovers probably did too.

That’s where the Fitnessa Bag was born.

Not from trying to create “just another gym bag,” but from wanting something that genuinely made workouts feel easier, cleaner, more organized, and more put together, without sacrificing style.
